Lightning Lane at the US Disney parks, Premier Access One in Paris and Disney Premier Access in Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong all sell a specific arrival window for a specific attraction. Inventory is finite per window, which is why they sell out and why they drop. Winning this model means booking the scarce thing first, stacking windows tightly and modifying into better times as other guests release them.
Model 2: anytime entry, the buyer's game
Universal Express, Disney's Premier Pass and Paris's Ultimate let you walk into the priority line whenever you like, once or unlimited times per ride. There is nothing to refresh. The hack is purely financial: Universal gives the product away with three hotels, and Disney prices Premier products so high that they only make sense on one-day trips.
