The Universal Orlando hotel hack: free Unlimited Express Pass, from check-in to check-out

How the perk works

Universal's three Signature Collection hotels, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Hard Rock Hotel and Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, include Universal Express Unlimited for every registered guest in the room. Express lets you enter a separate, much shorter line at most attractions with no return time and, with Unlimited, no cap on re-rides. The pass is issued at the hotel and is valid on Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.

What it does not cover

• Epic Universe. Only single-use Express is sold there, no Unlimited exists, and no hotel includes it.
• Helios Grand Hotel, the hotel attached to Epic Universe, does not include Express Pass at any park.
• Volcano Bay Express is a separate product.
• A handful of attractions are excluded from Express at any given time; the list is on Universal's site.

The math

Express Unlimited is sold per person per day at a price that swings with the date, from under a hundred dollars on quiet days to several hundred on peak ones. Multiply by party size and park days, then compare to the difference between a Signature hotel rate and wherever else you would sleep. Early Park Admission

All Universal Orlando on-site hotels, including the Prime Value and Value tiers, include Early Park Admission, typically an hour before the public to one or more parks. Which park changes by date and has included Epic Universe for hotel guests since it opened. Use it exactly like Disney rope drop: one headliner before the gates open, then let Express carry the rest of the day.

Booking notes

• The perk is tied to the room, not to the booking channel. Third-party and package bookings qualify as long as your name is on the reservation.
• Every guest who wants Express must be registered on the room.
• Bring your park tickets and room key to the hotel Express desk; passes are issued per guest per day.
